Issue Position

We need to support elders at all steps of their journeys. Our seniors have made our community, and and we need to invest in their care.

Medicare and Medicaid coverage is too complicated and misses many elders. All seniors should receive dental, vision, hearing, home- and community-based long-term care, in-patient and out-patient services, mental health and substance abuse treatment, prescription drugs, and other services they need to be safe, helathy and live with dignity.
Rhode Island should train and expand our direct-care workforce, as well as provide adequate pay and staffing for care workers.
Cost should not prevent people from getting the medicine they need. I will work to pass legislation to cap the price of insulin and other prescription drugs.
None of our elders should be left behind. I will work to end elder hunger, utility shutoffs, and housing insecurity.
